Some People You Meet In Your Life

1. The Eternal Family. Your loving parents, your beautiful sisters, your handsome brothers and all your other relatives. They are the people who were there from the start and are always beside you all the time. They've watched you grow up and they know every little thing about you from your favorite food to your greatest dream. You spend most of your time with them, sharing your experiences and telling them all the good and bad things in your life. They are the people who will never ever leave you. They are the people who care and love you so much.

2. The Bestfriends. The people who are crazy enough to be your friends. They treat you like a sister/brother or sometimes like a maid. You can laugh with them, cry with them, and just do anything with them even if it's going to McDonald's at 3 in the morning. They are the people who know your secrets and will use them against you just for fun. The people you share everything with; food, stories, clothes and all the good and bad stuff in your life. They love you just the way you are even if you're crazy and loud and a one big pain in the head. You share your adventures with them and together you plan to travel the world one day.

3. The Good Friends. People you often see but are always there when you need a friend. The ones you go out with only once a month but feel like you still know them your whole life. The people you can always count on because they know that they can count on you too. The Hey-I-Miss-You-Let's-Have-Ice-Cream friends you can always have a good laugh with.

4. The Just-Passing-By Guys. Those guys you meet in your life that at one point will make you think and believe they're the one. Those guys who will make you feel special for a while but then after some time will leave you in a blink of an eye. Those guys you thought you could have a future with. Those guys.

5. The One That Got Away. That one person who will always have a piece of your heart. That someone you've tried forgetting years after years but until now you still can't. That someone who once made you feel like you were the most special girl/guy in the world and who gave you everything. That person you wished you didn't take for granted. That person you shared so much with that everything reminds you of him/her. That one special person who can always, always, make you feel like a fool for losing him/her. The one who will forever have a place in your heart.

6. The Bitches. Do I need to say more? They are the liars, the backstabbers and the unhappy people who are always jealous and who always want to drag you down. Period.

7. The Long Distance Friends. Your friends who are far from you or live in other countries and the people you meet and talk with online. They are the ones you talk with in your social media accounts and other websites. You become friends with them because you like the same shows or games or artist. You can relate with each other especially when talking about something you both love. They can be anyone and you don't care just as long as you respect each other.

8. The Stars/Idols. The people you admire and wish to be friends with someday. Those artists or idols or groups or bands you really love who inspire you and give you something to be crazy about.

9. The One Who Inspires You. At some point you have that someone who greatly influences your life. Someone who makes you see things differently and changes your view in life. A person who helps you become better, stronger and more positive in life. He/She supports and encourages you to do the things you love and will always tell you to follow your dreams.

10. The One Guy You Will Spend The Rest of Your Life With. The one who will make you the happiest person in the world. Your true love, your forever, your one and only. He/She will make you feel all the kinds of love in the world and will never ever leave you. Someone you can trust, someone you can tell all your secrets to and someone who accepts all of you. The person you can call at 2 in the morning just because you can't sleep, the person you can go with to your favorite band's concert, the person who knows all your imperfections but still love you and the person who will do everything just to keep you by his/her side. That one special guy.

KDrama: She Was Pretty 2015

Main Characters:
Hwang Jung-eum as Kim Hye-jin
Park Seo-joon as Ji Sung-joon
Go Joon-hee as Min Ha-ri
Choi Si-won as Kim Shin-hyuk

Synopsis from Asianwiki:
When Sung-joon was young, he wampletely changed. Sung-joon is now handsome and perfect in his appearance, while Hye-jin looks nothing like her former pretty self. Hye-jin is also unemployed and looking for a job.
Hye-jin then asks her best friend Ha-ri for help. Ha-ri is to pretend she is Hye-jin and go meet Sung-joon. At their meeting, Ha-ri pretends to be Hye-jin and tells Sung-joon that she is leaving for England the next day to study.
Later, Hye-jin, as an intern at a fashion magazine, meets Sung-joon who is an editor at the fashion magazine.

Reasons why I watched this drama:

1. Hwang Jung-eum is a beautiful and an amazing actress.
2. I love Choi Siwon because I love Super Junior! (forever!)
3. Okay, I also love Park Seo-joon because he was also with Jung-eum in the drama Kill Me, Heal Me.
4. The story is typical but cute and good.
5. It's a rom-com and I always love rom-com.

Screencaps:

I love Sung-joon and Hye-jin but I also love Shin-hyuk and Hye-jin!!! :)
I love Shin hyuk's character because he's funny and he cares so much for Hye-jin and even though I already knew that he and Hye-jin wouldn't end up together, I still wished they would. Huhu. :"(

And who wouldn't fall for a guy who always runs to you whenever you need help even if he's badly hurt?

This scene gave me all the feels. Seriously! :")
Shin-hyuk: Since Deputy Chief could get angry, everyday won't be possible. But please think of me whenever you see pickled radish.

Hye-jin and Ha-ri are also the friendship goals.
They were so cute and I liked it when Ha-ri called Hye-jin "wifey".

 THE END!
Hye-jin and Sung-joon

Book: Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsela

★★★/★★★★★

I've been wanting to read this one because well, it's written by Sophie Kinsella and I love her! Two of my favorite books are written by her (Can You Keep A Secret? and I've Got Your Number) so I was really excited when I first heard that she's having a new book.

Finding Audrey is good. I mean, it's about Audrey who has anxiety disorder and her family (and Linus) who has been very supportive and helpful in her recovery. I don't really know if it should be a serious one because it's about mental illness but then it's very funny and Audrey's family is a bit different and by different I mean crazy and loud and funny!

The whole time I was reading this book I was waiting for that something that will pull me inside the story just like when I read other books. But in this case, nothing pulled me in. It was like I was just reading and waiting for it to end. Don't get me wrong, it's good and very positive but it's not my kind of story. And maybe I just like it when Sophie Kinsella writes chick lit rather than YA.

Essay: Who are my friends?

This is an essay for my sister's English class.

Title: Who are your friends?

“A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.”
― Elbert Hubbard
Friends. They are the people you share everything with. Your stories, your problems, your food, you even share the dislike you feel towards other people. You treat them nicely but sometimes you tease them too. Friends are the people you feel comfortable with because they know everything about you.

Who are my friends? My friends are the people I eat with during lunch. My friends are the people I chat with during class. My friends are these crazy people who are listening to me now (If they are even listening). My friends are the reason I am enjoying high school now. Why? Because they make everyday easier by just being by my side. That’s what friends do, right? They make everything easier. They make you laugh with their dumb jokes. They make you giggle with their silly expressions. They push you towards your crush but instead of getting mad, you thank them anyway. Because that’s just what friends do.

But friends don’t only stay during the good times. They also share your sadness, pain and the BV (bad vibes). They are beside you when you feel down, lost or even when you’re just not in the mood. Or when you’re in your red days. They ask why your face is crumpled when you’re upset about something. They lend you a hand whenever you need one. They give you hope when everything else feels wrong. Friends are what keep you going when you feel like stopping. Friends are what motivate you when everything else sucks and most importantly, they don’t let you do crazy things… alone.

So who are your friends? Are they the one sitting beside you? Because if they are, then you’re probably denying it now for how crazy they must be. But crazy or not, you still love them anyway.

Taking Gifting to the Next Level

Now that Christmas is just around the corner, everyone is excited to do their holiday shopping. We are all excited to buy gifts for our loved ones and of course for ourselves.

This Christmas, I only have four on my wishlist.
1. Our mom lives in Palawan and it's been years since we last saw her. We really want to see her this Christmas so 4 round-trip tickets to Palawan are on the top of my list.

 2. Can you believe that I don't have my own laptop? Yes, I don't. That's why I really really want one this Christmas. Please?
*cough* Acer *cough*

3. I like reading and getting new books this Christmas would be really great!

4. I know my fourth wish is cliche but come on, it wouldn't hurt to wish for world peace.
So there you have the wishlist that could make me very happy this Christmas.
*** *** ***
Another thing that could make me happy is by giving my family the gifts they really want. Because seeing them happy makes me happy. And this year, I want to take gifting to the next level.
So here are the things I want to give my family this Christmas:
I know that my family always appreciates everything that I give them. I know that no matter how small or big or cheap or expensive it is, they wouldn't care just as long as it's from me. And I love them for that.
*** *** ***
For me, Christmas is the best time of the year. It's the season where everyone celebrates and shares the things they have. We buy gifts for our loved ones and we spend quality time with them. And though we're not celebrating our Christmas with our parents (just like any other year), we know that it would still be wonderful.

Christmas is also the season of giving. We share the things we can share to others without expecting anything in return. We reach out to those who need our help and we try to give them something that could make them happy. And I think it's our way of giving back to them for all the good things that happened to us this year. Sharing our blessings with them is our way of giving back.

Another way in which you can give back to others is by participating in SM Christmas Bears of Joy.
Your Php 200 can make a child happy plus you get to keep a cute bear. How great is that? So if you also want to make a child happy, come and join the SM Christmas Bears of Joy.

There are so many ways we can give back to others. It's just up to us how we do it. Be it by donating old clothes and toys or lending a hand in a charity or by just participating in different programs or activities just like the SM Christmas Bears of Joy. And I really hope that each of us would take this opportunity to help others because there's always joy in giving!

Book: Dumplin' by Julie Murphy

★★★★/★★★★★

Every story is about your typical girl-meets-boy or the other way around. This one is no different but then I think Willowdean is not your typical girl and honestly, Bo is not your typical guy either. So I guess it's not really your typical story.

I love this one because it tells us that a girl doesn't really need to join a pageant to be her own beauty queen. That sometimes we just have to trust ourselves, wear a dress (or a smile) and walk like we don't care to have our own crown (even if it's invisible). It tells us that we don't need other people to judge us first to become confident in ourselves. I know it's easier said than done given all the eyes and opinions and whatever shit around us but trust me, the only way to really be yourself is to embrace it. Your body is a part of you, it is you, but it's not everything. So they can judge a person base on his/her body size but it's up to that person to prove them wrong.

Another thing I loved about the book were the characters. Of course I loved Willowdean because she was the kind of bestfriend I wanted to have. I know it sucks when you can't talk to your bestfriend and then you have a cabinet full of stories to tell her. Argh! So it frustrated me when Ellen wasn't talking to Will when Will had so many things to share to her. Her attitude was kind of an inspiration too. She was not ashamed of her body but it didn't mean that it didn't make her conscious sometimes. But then she can't do anything about it, even if she tried, so she just tried to ignore what other people say. Lee and Dale were also my favorites. They were those people in your life you instantly love because you feel like they understand you. It was so kind of them to help Will and her friends when they needed one. I also wanted to like Will's mother but I think Lucy was better. Anyway, let's go to Bo. He was the perfect boyfriend. Okay, Almost-Boyfriend? Fine! Bo-the-perfect-almost-boyfriend! At first I was skeptical about him but then I thought what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-a-cute-guy-liking-a-fat-girl? It's not like Willowdean was rude or a bully or a murderer for him not to like her. What I think now is that Willowdean deserved him. Then there was Mitch. Gosh, Willowdean was so lucky to have Mitch and Bo! Tsk. I think Mitch was okay too but it wasn't cool for him to just leave Will after everything. But then I guess that's how it works with guys. When a girl tells them that they can only be friends then they will just disappear like nothing happened. Too bad I really liked him. Other characters like Millie, Amanda and Hannah were the kind of friends who understand you because they can feel what you feel. Maybe in different extent or ways but they were the ones who wanted to prove everyone that they can be more than what their flaws were. I don't really know how to describe Ellen but I think she was a 50-50. I liked that she was Will's bestfriend but I didn't like that she ignored her for two months. *frowns* And Callie? Well, I didn't like her at all.

“I guess sometimes the perfection we perceive in others is made up of a whole bunch of tiny imperfections, because some days the damn dress just won't zip.”

The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie  McLemore
For twenty years, the Palomas and the Corbeaus have been rivals and enemies, locked in an escalating feud for over a generation. Both families make their living as traveling performers in competing shows—the Palomas swimming in mermaid exhibitions, the Corbeaus, former tightrope walkers, performing in the tallest trees they can find.

Lace Paloma may be new to her family’s show, but she knows as well as anyone that the Corbeaus are pure magia negra, black magic from the devil himself. Simply touching one could mean death, and she's been taught from birth to keep away. But when disaster strikes the small town where both families are performing, it’s a Corbeau boy, Cluck, who saves Lace’s life. And his touch immerses her in the world of the Corbeaus, where falling for him could turn his own family against him, and one misstep can be just as dangerous on the ground as it is in the trees.

The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler
Jude has learned a lot from her older sisters, but the most important thing is this: The Vargas brothers are notorious heartbreakers. She’s seen the tears and disasters that dating a Vargas boy can cause, and she swore an oath—with candles and a contract and everything—to never have anything to do with one.

Now Jude is the only sister still living at home, and she’s spending the summer helping her ailing father restore his vintage motorcycle—which means hiring a mechanic to help out. Is it Jude’s fault he happens to be cute? And surprisingly sweet? And a Vargas?

Jude tells herself it’s strictly bike business with Emilio. Her sisters will never find out, and Jude can spot those flirty little Vargas tricks a mile away—no way would she fall for them. But Jude’s defenses are crumbling, and if history is destined to repeat itself, she’s speeding toward some serious heartbreak…unless her sisters were wrong?

Jude may have taken an oath, but she’s beginning to think that when it comes to love, some promises might be worth breaking.

Book: What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler

★★★★★/★★★★★

"Not being able to say no isn't the same as saying yes."

Here's how the story goes: There was a party, drunk highschool students, Twitter and you know what happens when there's a party with a bunch of drunk highschool students and their Twitter.
It's a really good story that tells us that one brave voice can change the course of everyone's life, that one brave girl can change another girl's life.

Four Reasons Why I Love Kate Weston.
1. She's not like everyone else and by everyone else I mean EVERYONE WHO WITNESSED what happened.
I love that she's different from all those people who think that just because a girl wears short skirts and tank top it means she wants to be raped! That's bullshit and no girl should be treated that way. I know we're responsible for what we wear but how we dress doesn't call for anything -- harm or trouble or any bad shit. We should blame how people think of what we wear.

2. She reaches out to Stacey even though Stacey pushes her away.
I can't blame Stacey for being angry and hurt and broken but it was so kind of Kate to reach out to her to know what really happened. They were friends before and sure enough Kate still cares for her. And you know what's funny about friendship? Even though you're not friends anymore, there's still a part of you that will always care. Because once upon a time, you and that person shared memories.

3. She knows that no matter how much you love a person, it's not enough to accept the fact that he can lie straight to your face about an important thing.
It breaks my heart to know that Ben lied to Kate. He was so close to being perfect --smart, athletic, good looking, kind-- but it was so dumb of him to lie about what really happened. I know he was worried about being cut off his team and his college scholarship but still, he should've at least tried to speak up. Or be man enough for Kate to tell her the truth. And the fact that he begged Kate not to go to the police, total asshole and turn off!
And of course it was also hard for Kate because she loved Ben but it wasn't enough. The truth must be told even if it caused her her relationship with that one person she thought she really knew. Ugh!

4. She's strong enough to speak up about what she saw.
Do I need to explain more? Nah, just read the book.

"Sometimes, when change happens, you can't stop it or control it or direct it. You can only hang for the ride."
